I think a good place to start is with factory training from your equipment provider and if you want the best go with Delta.

That of course is if the equipment suppliers knows what they are doing. Heating is only normally required to dry the damage and is seldom required once filling commences.

Not knocking you personally but get professional training not just watching a dvd that came with a repair kit

I hate seeing people go into this trade by buying some generic kit and watching a dvd. That's how we end up with too many roadside hacks doing 2nd rate repairs and giving the industry a bad name. Windshield repair is not a diificult thing to learn but one must learn how to do it CORRECTLY. Companies that sell kits but do not also offer hands-on training from experienced professionals really don't care what happens once the sell you the kit.

Well Clearquest,

Some newbies understand what is required to become a windshield repair professional and others do not. What always bugs me the most is when some hot shot newbie says ( windshield repair is so easy) Yes, it is to perform sub-par quality results. I personally choose to provide only high quality repairs, which takes some time and training.

To provide a quality repair daily it will take a little more effort and proper training. I personally don't worry about people like "Crack In Chip" because there not around for very long!

i don't care if i make money.it's just another hobby for me.if i make a little money thats great.i have done about every thing on a automobile.building drag race motors,tranys,rear ends,detailing.only thing missing is glass.i learn by doing it, not by reading about it. you have got to admit that it easy when you understand how to do it,if it was'nt you would'nt be doing it.why would you do a job every day that is hard.if you have to worry about competition then you should'nt be doing it. i do what i do because i like to do it.not because i think the other guy is better than me.i can see this forum is for perfect people not for someone new with questions."don't know untill you ask"

People do difficult jobs that they are trained to do. They don't avoid it because it's not easy. If the world were full of unmotivated people who weren't up to the challenge of a hard job this nation and it's people would not be world leaders. And successful businesses are concerned about their competition, otherwise they get lazy. If you only want to do this as a hobby and don't care if you make money then do it for free!

Serious attitude alert going on hear. Built racing engine, yep done that one, tranys, well over here that is a cross dresser so count me out of that one. Detailing, well that is hard work for not a lot per hour so I will not go there. Training now that is something I did have 23 years ago and have continued to develop my skill since.

Course it is easy when you understand, so is rocket science.

i know, there is one on every forum thats been there done that!.detailing is not hard work if you have the right equipment.like an extractor.as far as attitude,all i did was ask a question and got alot of attitude,like i was mentaly challanged.
