Something has changed with those towels. I noticed the same. It doesn't feel the same either. I am using Scott Workshop divided sheets. They also don't feel the same as 2 years ago. I thought it might be, because I leave them in my vehicle. I open a new pack, from the store and It had the same feel as those in my car.

A few years ago I bought a 36 pack of yellow microfiber towels at Costco for around $15.
I use them to wash the windshield.
A wet one to wash the windshield, and a dry one to wipe the squeegee dry after each pass.
To wipe off excess resin, I use the blue paper shop towels.
To polish pit resin, I use a spare dremel with a felt buffing wheel.
