Just had to add my two cents worth.
Honestly guys I don't think any paticular certefication process is ever going to come about that is manditory. I just won't happen, I would love to see it happen because of all the horible repair people out there. I just don't see it though. Look at all the other industries out there, tons of them have been around for so much longer then windshield repair and non of them have certifications that are required. Besides it would be a nightmare to really enforce. Don't get me wrong I am not trying to be melodromatic or anything I just don't see it happening.

I guess I had never considered that a certification be mandatory. With the exception that an insurance company or network could make it a requirement to do work for them, just as they can mandate that you have liability insurance, etc.
There is no way that certification for wsr in general could be made mandatory. But, if the big networks made it a requirement, it would have that effect for the most part.
I still don't know that it would be a good idea, though. Sometimes things backfire. Hmmm... What if a hands-on certification is in our future?
A. It weeds out untrained techs... leaves more work for qualified guys who can get the certification.
B. It allows any monkey who can get certified to wave the "officially certified" holy banner.
C. Has no effect, except to act as a burden and expense to all wsr techs.
D. Lead to something none of us can forsee.
