I'm with Coitster. I look like a surgon, but no more skin problems. I had a terrible reaction to the slightest bit of resin on my fingers. It always ended up being as a rash between fingers. It was itchy, cracking and bleeding. One minor exposure took weeks to heal. It was definately caused by the resin, and the blue nitrile gloves that I know wear haved completely solved my sensative skin to resin problem.

Jeff,
Are you sure that Windshield Repair Warehouse is the same as Glass Technology? I understood it to be a former employee of GT that opened his own supply company.

Yup.

Nope.
Their website is owned by Glass Technology, so I assume their company is as well.

That's great, except that it's not acid free which is what souchie was asking for.

Beware of so-called acid free resins, to provide a satisfatory bond, some acid is required to "etch" the glass. While the acid reduced resins do work there bond strength is compimised. The best solution is good work practices, I have one franchisee that has severe reactions to resin. he treats his equipment like a surgeon opperaring a patient who is HIV positive. His reaction is such that he can't even touch the outside of a new bottle of resin without a reaction. He has developed techniques, and habits that keep his skin well seperated from the resin. He has tried the acid reduced resins, they still insite a reaction, though slightly less. I train all my techs to use gloves, better to prevent than to cure.

I had the same exact problem as you did. Bad reaction at first then it went away and came back two months later. My solution was to double glove and use cotton liners to absorb the perspiration. I keep the golves on until I've finished cleaning up and put away equipment. I don't reuse the gloves. I wipe down all my tools and equipment with denatured alcohol. I have had no reaction for about 1 1/2 years now. I hope this helps.
