I haven't had to deal with the issue for awhile, but I remember how uneasy some customers got when I would inform them of their right to choose where they wanted to take their car, and what they might expect to hear from the TPAs when we called for claims approval.

Unfortunately many people are afraid they will tick off their insurance company causing their rates to go up, and sometimes even the most rational reasoning will not convince them to stand up for their rights. This is especially true of new customers that don't know you from the competition. They are often only too happy to take their car to a name they recognize if the TPA recommends it.

The customer just doesn't understand what goes on behind the scenes, and it is often very difficult to educate them without scaring them away. Still, we must try!
I use http://www.kall8.com I have it set up were every call that comes into my phones are recorded.

http://www.kall8.com has been great. I also get to remarket to the callers and have a paper trail of folks that have called me.

OK, really why is Safelite "scum" of the industry? They offer service that most can not match or qualify for.

If they are such scum, why you working their jobs? What dose that make you? SCUM LITE?

Learn to work with folks, not against them. Build a net work.

It like when I was a lock smith. I hated every other lock smith, YET; I WOULD REFER FOLKS TO THEM. All I could offer when I could not do it was a solution to the problem.

Daytrader,
Not even going to respond to your thread except for this.....around here people with special needs are referred to as handicapped not "half retarted". That is so VERY old school!

I was gonna post something like...Gosh I guess we're all a bunch of "retarted" dummies because all some of us do for a living is windshield repair, and we need a sermon cuz we don't refer work out as much as those who are more gifted with great marketing skills.

Then I changed my mind, cuz things had really been pretty civil around here lately, and I didn't want to rock the boat.

So maybe here's what I'll post instead. Happy New Year everybody, and have good success in all your endeavors.
