Re: Problems with Drystar
Believe me Starstruck a lot of guys training windscreen repair over here have only had a short lesson themselves. Not dry out, no UV shield, drilling into the bottom of a bullseye and lots more. These are just some of the things I know guys have learnt or not learnt over the years from so called trainers.
33,000 + screen repairs over 18 years and still learning.

I hear ya on being worried about the full 20. The times I had runs was somewhere between 12 and 20 secs, so I get nervous on the full 20screenman;30767 wrote:We still have companies over here that train the inside method, I also agree with the last 2 posts, it needs to be too hot for too long. Also how would you dry out near the top, bottom or side of the glass using a match without risking damage to interior trim, but hey as I have said before of it works for you then it works for you. I tested the Drystar yesterday using Brents method although it made me nervous I had only one small 1 inch run on ten tests. So I will increase my time but for about 12 second as I am not brave enough for 20.

Re: Problems with Drystar
Not the only way just the preffered way and yes if its in a bad spot you have to do something different and quite honestly water has never been much of a problem for me here in Fresno its hot and no humidity thus everything I see is dry in Vermont it was to cold in most cases frozen stuff doesnt flow into chips much one of the reasons I moved here is to avoid the bad weather and moisture rained 3 times in the 5 months I have been here. It doesnt suck !
As far as methods there are as many as there are techs if the one you use works in your area then use it
that said I use the dry out and some heat from a flame when the rare wet break comes along

The preferred way because it is the correct and effective way. Dry outs are dry outs whether you are in the desert or a rain forest.
