It should be noted that some replacement shops do not spend much time on repairs because they use it as an upsell to a windshield replacement.

things go a bit slower up in michigan 9 months a year, inclimate weather an all. lots of thawing out and defrosting. 35mins. for the entire visit isnt unreasonable when pay is houly and the kit they provide has 1 fixture. we are going south this year , you cant do good mobile work in the winter. even if they have a garage its full of junk with bad lighting. ill bet alot of bad repairs are done in the winter time.

u are right toab . i worked for a crooked guy who scammed ins. companies by steering ANY!!! damage even slight into a claim convincing the customer repairs fail, you still see them, etc. i quit on him for trying to get me to lie to customers.he advertised repairs but seldom did one. i hated tearing o.e. glass out with a tiny bullseye and putting in lousy after market , oh and try to save the molding while i bill for a new one. wat a creep.....

moonlighter wrote:some companies push their techs to do quickie repairs so they can get back to installing glass =$$$. i was always taking too long to repair (30-45 mins.) avg. i like to think i did the best possible job when i leave but as we all know , some repair better than others. my boss would tell the customer repair takes 10 mins. without even seeing it,lol. then i have to re-educate the customer @ the jobsite, wat a drag...
Did a job yesterday on a Renault windscreen/windshield lady was very impressed and then wanted me to rectify autoglass/Belron repair on her w/s....next job of day rectifying massive cut into dashboard caused by Autoglass cheese wiring a chunk of dashboard Happy days :D

I've been called out on some "Scam Repairs" lately, and some of them have been pretty frustrating to say the least!
