To all; just so you know, in my opinion....our friend Screenman is right. In fact he is bloody right! This is such a waste of time, just go out and do ONE single repair extra (this YEAR) and you have made up for that 'huge loss' (paying a little 'too much' for something silly like a drill bit!). As always, your opinion may be different and that is just fine.

Drill bits were the subject of this post, however, I'm looking at the bigger picture. My follow-up reply was moved to the water cooler regarding the NWRA insurance. It sounds like some of you think that instead of doing a repair or finding a break that needs repair, some of us are on the phone getting prices for drill bits! Give me a break!!

I had to take a call, so I'll continue my rant. To me, it's not just about burrs. I buy all my resins and injector products from the same manufacturer. I have for 16 years. It's the other "misc." items that I shop around to get the best quality and price. Notice I put quality first. Some examples would be business cards, invoices, advertising, insurance, drill bits and even gas! All these calls are made when I'm home for the day or on a rainy or snowy day.
My point is, that is should not matter if your looking to save a nickel or a few hundred dollars. I would hope that I'm not the only one that "shops around" for products such as mentioned above.

I tend to spend those sort of days selling, I let me suppliers do the chasing. I hane one supplier for stationery etc, one for computor problems one for supplies. I have long term business relationships with all my suppliers and I stay loyal to them, I also allow them to make a profit, much the same as I want to.
One thing here, if you are the sort of person that chases a better deal price wise all the time then you should expect without complaint for your customers to do the same. This is not a personaly slur but a general observation. We get it on another forum I am on where guys are always trying to save a $ and then complain like made when a customer dropped them for a cheaper supplier.

It looks like I was not clear enough, again! I certainly don't call around every single time I need more burrs or business cards or whatever. I have my suppliers that I've been loyal to for many years. Your general observation was incorrect!
