i have been putting the box on the hood since i started. use a delta kits hood cover folded in half never had a problem or a customer say anything.
what i worry about and would like to know what you guys do with your cell phones and belt buckles, they i think will do more damage than the tool box on hood. by the way i weighed by delta kits box with glass cleaner in it, it's 15 lbs shouldn't and dies not dent hood.

I never wear a belt (I have pants that fit) and my cell phone is in my cargo pocket of my pants.

Having seen a car have to be painted because of a belt buckle scratch, I recommend belts like this http://www.beltoutlet.com/menoscbebydi.html.

excellent never saw belt like that or even thought someone makes one.
there goes my next great idea.
