I use the FG2 bur if I want to open up the center (impact point) of a break, but that is pretty rare. In fact, I can't remember the last time I needed to do that, but if there is no impact point I will use the FG2. The FG is a round tipped bur so there is no need to wobble, or move the drill in an orbital rotation (I like the sound of that better), however the hole size is too small to use with the slide hammer, or at least it does not work as well as the FG701 for this purpose.

The FG2 drills a smaller hole so for cleaning out a pit or opening up an impact point it works great, but it does not drill as fast or last as long as the FG701.

Just finished testing FG702 burs. They are the same shape as the FG701 but drill a larger hole. They are very aggressive and fast drilling, so much so that it is almost impossible not to leave a small surface chip. All of our technicians agreed that the hole size was too large, and the bullseye did not look as good as when using the FG701 in conjunction with the wobble technique and the slide hammer. We do not recommend using this size bur.
