Personaly I think that its great your 15 year old wants to do this. I am all for it. When I was 16 just a year older then him I had my own window cleaning buisness for houses. I did very well at it. I went out and advertised myself for the business. I found that most people where impressed at what I was doing and where very happy to give me business. As for what you pay someone there is no reason to limit his pay to minium wage, if he does the work pay him accordingly. You teach him the value of working smart and not hard. Most people never learn that lesson and if he does at a young age WATCH OUT. You might just have a future Donald Trump on your hands. Great job teaching your kid to work early.

Hi Mepoozer,
What a great thing to do for your son, I only wish my father would have afforded me the same opportunity to learn about the business world first hand.

For what it's worth my advise is to stress to him integrity and honesty, and to always have passion for what you are doing. To really be successful one has to believe completely in what they are doing reguardless of what it is.

You have a great kid there, willing to learn a great business. Give him a job as your helper until he is 18, take on new accounts and build your biz up so whe he is experenced and in to it and has something to make a living on ther will be a customer base for him.

Do it together and he will learn how to really make a living. Last summer I took my nephew with me when I was doing paint touchup and noticed that my accounts got real pickey about th work. As soon as they saw a kid with me the flags went up, he was 15, 5'-11" and looked like a 20 year old. I let the dealer know he was just helping me while he was an summer break.

Hello everyone- Sorry I haven't posted sooner, I had some computer problems and think I'm back on track...
Thank You all for the advice and stories(Kids selling windshield repair in school, WSR101- I love it !!!!!!! No money for milkshakes or movies though!!!!!)) on this topic. We would work as a team till he was older and I would pay him a fair wage but not alot for his age and let him know the rest of what he earned will be waiting for him till he is 18, 21 or older, college, depending on how responsible he is when he gets older. At least that is the plan for now.
Paintlessplus- A big kudos to you and your daughter!!!! Keep us posted, K?
Glassdoctor- He's close to 6' but I don't think he could bluff his age yet- to much of a baby face!!! We won't tell him I said that.... LOL If I could make the smily faces work I would put one here and in a few other places but they won't work. Just imagine them in here, o.k.?
This is getting kinda ling but wanted to say Thank You all for the input, Me
Gold Star- Thank you for the compliment about not being afraid of the competition- Truth is I am intimidated by it in some ways but the more I get into it I think it is getting less- Your compliment gives me encouragement!!! Thank You!!!!
