To be honest Korey Im not a big bagpipe fan and haven't been - although one of the best events Ive seen was an impromptu display in a pub on Academy Street called "Blackfriars" where the Highlanders regimental pipe band - who were performing at the "Northern Meeting" just turned up and played,,,,and that was a REAL BLAST 8-) :D The locals and tourists were well impressed! 12 pipers 6+snare drums bass drum ..and highland dancers to boot...Ceilidh time!

First, Please follow Korey' instructions and view the How To Videos. In that case I'd reccomend you to watch as much footage as possible. Generally Delta Kits.
You can find a lot of them on www.youtube.com or I beilieve I have watched some on their website www.deltakits.com

Its puzzled me as to a few questions:

Check how much resin you are using both "Bond & Pit"
Each time you perform a new repair, be sure to use a "New" razor blade!
Are you buffing the pit with "Pit Polish" this along with a "Clean" shop towel
Typically clears up the "Cured" pit resin.

Always be sure to do a "Full 5 minutes Cure" UV Light
I wouldn't depend on "Sunlight"

Just some thought!

Time2Shine,

I have watched the videos over and over again. I have not been using a new razor blade with every repair. So I will do that next time.

Check how much resin you are using both "Bond & Pit"-------I use 7 drops per repair and I use 1 drop of pit resin.
Each time you perform a new repair, be sure to use a "New" razor blade!--------no, but I will start.
Are you buffing the pit with "Pit Polish" this along with a "Clean" shop towel---Yes
Typically clears up the "Cured" pit resin.

Always be sure to do a "Full 5 minutes Cure" UV Light-------Yes
I wouldn't depend on "Sunlight"

I believe I just need more practice. Thanks for the feedback.

I won't mention any company names but this is the quality it seems in my area. Check out these 2 different repairs.

These are actual repairs done by 2 different companies.

They must not have a Delta Bridge. :D

Thanks for not mentioning any names. We don't want this thread to be about bashing equipment manufacturers, or about bashing technicians for that matter, and so far you guys have done a great job of not letting that happen. The fact is that no matter what kind of equipment is used there will be technicians who do good work and technicians who do not. Unfortunately there are a lot of technicians who do not do good work. I was riding in a car over the weekend with three large combination breaks in the windshield. At first glance they did not appear to have been repaired at all, but upon closer examination it was apparent that an "attempt" had been made.

Of course when you magnify photos to the size of the ones below you will begin to see things not visible with the naked eye. Very clear photos by the way; nice job. I think taking photos of your repairs like this is a great way to scrutinize your own work, although I'm not sure putting them on a public forum is such a good idea. If I was a customer looking for someone to repair my windshield I might think twice about having my windshield repaired after viewing these photos, and you really open yourself up to scrutiny by your peers. I suppose that is the point though, so as long as you can take the heat it may very well be a way for you to get some honest feedback that will help you do better repairs.

I would also ask that you not post links to the Delta Kits website. I know it seems silly, and it's not a big deal since everyone knows Delta Kits moderates the windshield repair forum, but I try to lead by example and the rules do say no promotional URLs. It's better to just say something like, visit the Delta Kits website and click on the informational video link at the bottom of the home page. The link is kind of buried for the moment, but we hope to remedy that problem soon. Like I said, I know it is silly, but it will save me a lot of moderating time later.

I'm very happy to hear, and see, that more and more new technicians are taking their job seriously and spending a lot of time practicing before actually working on a customer's car. With the proper feedback, practice will make your repair quality better. No question about it.

I am sorry to say that quality of repair is not limited to your area alone, we see lots of them over here as well.

Yep. Plenty of poor quality repairs in the UK for sure. Some of this is down to POOR QUALITY TRAINING!

Training is everything IMO and when there are trainers who are not sure how to carry out repairs themselves showing others, its like the blind leading the blind.
Ridiculous!
