I just put them on cars with damage. How many flyers have you put out and how many jobs have you gotten from them? I have put out about 350 flyers and have only gotten 2 jobs from them. I have gotten more jobs from my signs. They seem to work better. I have only gotten 2 phone calls from the signs that did not end up in repairs. They were just curious about windshield repair. Could have even been other windshield repair people seeing what I am charging.
I would like to know how else people are getting work. I would like to be about to do about 10 repairs per day. That has not happened yet.

Glassdoctor,
Sorry for taking so long to respond to your post but I have been very busy. I went to Florida for a few weeks to see what the wsr business was like down there and did not like it much. But that is a different story.
The signs are working pretty well. Much better than the flyers. I get about 6 appointments per week off them. For the small investment of the signs they have paid off well. I am going to get some more made and keep putting them out.

I also put my business card inbetween the window and door on the driver side with a price quote. I only put them on windshields that have damage. I've recieved over 15 calls and repaired 7 so far that came from 500 business cards that I passed out in 3 days. Working on my next 500 now

and with these I'll be able to accept insurance so I feel good about it, needless to say i always like to have the customer in front of me so i can close them on the spot! I actually saw a guy pick up the card and sat in his truck and read the quote, he didnt call but for 10 seconds I had his attention.

Good Morning Forum readers and contributors ! I put flyers out heavy when I first started. I put them on vehicles that needed a WSR or HLR. My results were not good. I now have Oil change shops and detail shops passing out a half sheet flyer for those that need either of those services. That is starting to pay off. I pay the shop a $5 finders fee for every referral that I do. Each of the flyers are color coded, so I know where the customer came from. I also ask how they found me when they call. Iam starting to schedule hospiatls in my area. I set up in a specific location and employees are given a dicount for that day to get repairs. I have a banner and I sit near the entrance of the facility. Some hospitals I have a table in the cafeteria area and I set appointments or I do them that day depending on the sistuation. I will post the results of this in a few months. That also includes Family medical clinics. The last time I did this I picked up a few request by their clients and salesmen. I still on a slow week will go to a shopping center and put my Business card on a drivers window that needs repair. It only takes about 30 minutes to cover a large parking lot.

]Hi everyone. I am a new kid on the block. Looking for some friends that would be willing to help me out with some advise. What have you more experienced techs done for marketing and what have you found to work the best for you? I thought about using flyers but after reading the post I have decided that it would be a big wast of printer ink and time, which is money. Any suggestions out there. And does any one know what the ordinances for Denver Colorado are concerning setting up on a corner.
Thanks for your advise ahead of time, and God Bless
RG

Check with your local government to get the laws for your area. They are different for each city/county. I do not do corner tent type work but I know my city will fine you for doing this type of street vendor work. This is the reason YOU need to get the laws straight up front.

For me and my company, we have never done promotions like these nor will we. I think by doing this there are several things that can backfire.
Not everyone is always aware they have a chip in their windshield, by finding a flyer pointing out a repair service these people might get suspicious and even assume that you created this break in their windshield.
People generally get frustrated finding (yet another) piece of paper under their wipers (so you have a potential customer crabby), throw it on the ground (who knows, the local company that owns the parkinglot might even go as far as getting mad and call you out for littering).
If a few minutes ago a shoppingcart scractched the owners car, you put a flyer on the windshield, a customer comes back and puts two and two together - bad things can happen. And unfortunately to top it off, as someone stated above me in this thread they distributed thousands of flyers, and got not one phonecall.
To me, it seems an expensive way of marketing and with potentially scary endresults. I'm not trying to talk you out of this or talk you down, just be careful

Unfortunately, you have to think of a LOT of things with every marketing step you take, and always come up with all possible negative scenarios as well.
