I don't understand SGC?
Re: I don't understand SGC?
I SUGGEST YOU DON'T PAY ANY THIRD PARTY (OR NETWORK) FOR PROCESSING (UNLESS YOU WANT TO) THE "NETWORKS" AND SOME INSURANCE COMPANIES WILL INSIST THAT THIS IS THE ONLY WAY THEY WILL RECEIVE PAYMENT, HOGWASH! NOT TRUE!
THEY CANT FORCE YOU TO USE THEIR "NETWORKS"........ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW IS THAT THEY CANT "FORCE" YOU, I JUST SAY, "I KNOW YOU HAVE THE NETWORKS SET UP FOR BILLING, BUT WE CHOOSE NOT TO USE THEM, CAN YOU PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHERE I SHOULD SENT THIS INVOICE".
ACCORDING TO THE FAIR TRADE LAWS, THEY CANT FORCE YOU TO USE THEM. I NEVER USE THEM, I THINK IT IS A CROCK. THEY ALWAYS TRY TO GIVE ME CRAP, BUT DON'T LET THEM!
THEY ALWAYS TAKE AN INVOICE THROUGH THE MAIL. ALWAYS. IT TAKES A FEW MINUTES TO FILL IT OUT AND SEND IT. I CANT SEE HOW IT IS WORTH GIVING UP THAT MUCH TO SOME ONE ELSE.........
PLUS THE WHOLE TURN AROUND TIME IS QUICKER IF YOU DO IT YOURSELF, USUALLY GET PAID WITHIN 2 WEEKS.
I WOULD BE FIRM AND DON'T LET THEM PUSH YOU AROUND!
GOOD LUCK!

Mr Chips, Do you take what the networks set for pricing? Or do you also demand what your charge is? The recent insurance jobs I have done have all been flat fee between 50 and 60 dollars. What is your process for billing insurance?

Re: I don't understand SGC?
I have a quick question. I do a fair share of repairs referred through the networks. When the repair comes from Harmon Solutions Group I just file the invoice on line on their site. I am usually paid within a couple of weeks.
1. When I am dealing with a customer directly (and not from a referral) does the customer have to file a claim before I can file an invoice directly with their insurance company for completed work? I've always used ACT but I would like to begin filing invoices directly myself to save the fee.
2. Will an insurance company accept an invoice from me without having spoken directly to the insured?
Thanks for any input....

I have received a few notices from Insurance companies stating that the insured MUST call in the claim, not the glass company.

Re: I don't understand SGC?
I just got an email a few weeks ago from SGC stating I didnt have insurance. I had to resend everything to them. I also had to verify that I was a repair only. I've only recieved a few jobs from any of the networks. I signed up June 2009, with Lynx and SGC. I get updates all the time from various insurance companies.

Re: I don't understand SGC?
I am following SGC Network and have in the last month or two. I have been doing this business for the last 4 years. Initially I did give up on the insurance part and decided to give it another run again. I am more determined now and it is a part of the business I really don't enjoy. No doubt they are a monopoly and the State of AZ, is catching wind of it. More states need to do the same. I believe we can do something. We can petition our legislator for each state and let them know in uncertain terms, that this Corporation smells like another, ENRON!!!!!! We must unite and take down these GIANTS ONE DAY AT A TIME. I am sure we can use a similar letter as a script, and what we need is everyone's stories of shady tactics from this organization, and probably sign it. I am sure they are looking at this feed even now and trying to circumvent a mounting criticism toward their unfair practices. The insurance companies need to now, that this is who they signed up with and that we plan to inform their clients and will make a difference. I don't believe they need to be the police, (inspectors) and have their fingers in the cookie jar regarding manipulating business to their preferred associates, which is ultimately themselves. This is such a joke and outright egregious.

I faxed my info to them three weeks ago and haven't heard anything back. Is there a number to reach them directly?
