Nothing wrong with you joking with others. I personally take your comments light hearted and understand it's a part of your personality. Some people however our more sensitive to your humor than myself or others and don't relate to it.

So my best shared advice to you is to let them know when your messing with them by ending your comments with "just kidding" or "just messing with you". I think that would solve all these issues.

To be honest when this forum first started, at times it became really nasty sometimes and many members got booted or either just left because of all the negativity.

For the last 3 years it's been a pretty clean forum and have enjoyed sharing with others.

As individual techs and business repair owners, we don't always agree but always try to remain respectful of each other.

Let's all try to keep it that way!
I couldn't have said it better StarQwest. As long as "everyone" knows you are joking, I have no problem with some good natured ribbing, but if it gets nasty like it did a few years ago I will be forced to take action to clean it up. For the most part we have a great bunch of regulars here, so hopefully that will not be necessary.

I also understand the concerns of Screenman, Mr Bill and others that prefer to keep the threads on topic and a bit more serious. Time is in very short supply for many forum users, so to some, every minute spent reading posts that are irrelevant to the thread is a minute wasted. I have to admit, I find myself in this camp more often than not. I know, I know, I'm just a stuffed shirt!

This forum is filled with people from all over the world and every personality type is represented here. We have members that have never done a repair or are only repairing windshields to make a little extra gas money, but we also have members that have thriving businesses with a great deal of responsibility to their families, employees, and communities. Some have lots of extra time to read and comment on every thread, while others only have time to scan the threads briefly to see if there is anything they can use to help their business. There is no right or wrong here, just different people in different walks of life.

With that in mind, I have a suggestion. If you have a serious question, a serious answer to a question, or a bit of serious advice, post it in the main windshield repair forum. If you wish to poke fun at one another please move that to the water cooler forum. That's not to say we can't keep it light, but this thread got so far off topic that I received several private messages about the relevancy of the posts.

I want to make it very clear that I am not picking on SplitPit or Cazador. Many forum users share your views and I am glad you are part of our forum community. I appreciate the fact that you both made it clear that you were just messing with each other, and neither of you have any hard feelings over any of the comments made.

I hope that by moving the majority of the jokes to the water cooler we can keep everyone happy. However, even at the water cooler, please follow StarQuest
