Any tips or suggestions as what works for you expiecnced mobile techs.
Is there a supplier out there that offers some shadding tool. Especially when the sun is directly over you?
I have LR big umbrella, but was wondering if some of you guys found something less expensive, and works well, a little easier to carry?

The Liquid Resins umbrella is a tool that I forget I have and only use it occasionally. But it just might be the best investment I've made. I always use it when working in a high rise office building parking lot.
Just think, 10-20 floors of offices, with people looking out at an orange and white umbrella with black WINDSHIELD REPAIR print!
Way too expensive, but payback was 3 retail jobs.
Just remember, mount it as far away from the damage as possible- when the wind catches it, the glass will flex.

A towel will work.
I used to use a big bubble cover from Novus, now we use a Novus uv cover that is flat strip about 12''x18" with a suction cup on each corner. It's really easy to carry around. Two fit in the bottom of my tool box easily.
I would think any company that sells repair equipment would sell a uv cover.

I have the liquid resins umbrella, which I use to shade ME, but I still use my uv protector to prevent premature curing during the repair. My uv screen is one I made up myself, incorporating a couple of ideas I saw on different forums. Works wonderful for me.

Personaly I use my tent when its really hot outside which it gets that way all the time in the summer. I roll the windows down and let it cool down while I am making my call to the insurance company. When I am done I come out and the glass is usualy a lot cooler for me to begin work. As for a UV protectant, the tent is ok, but I still use Towels over my bridge or the UV blocker screen. Its really up to you.

Coitster: when you referenced your tent would you set up your tent when it is really hot just to do one repair?

Yes, I will set it up to do just one repair. It only takes me like 2 minutes to set it up, and I stand under it also so I am out of the sun. Its no big deal, trust me, every windshield I have ever cracked out was because it was too hot. The tent really helps.
