Newbie here. Just out of curiosity, when you guys are curing with the ultraviolet light what do you do to keep yourselves busy? That 5 minute interval sure feels like a long time. I mean there is nothing to work on. I don't want to offend customers and twiddle my thumbs or stare off into the sky.

It may sound like a silly question but I want to present a professional image.

Two things come to mind right away... well make that three now:

1. Write up invoice, etc.
2. Perform an impressive cleaning/packing ritual with the equipment
3. Get a faster cure light. There are good lights that only need 1-2 minutes...

If you're doing an insurance job, break out some glass cleaner and paper towels and clean the exterior glass on the vehicle.

Not sure what lamp your using now but check out Delta Kits 9w dual tube 12".
I've been using mine for 6 months now it it works great, cures in two minutes under normal temps and is very reasonably priced! Also to mention.....UV bulbs will lose some of there effiency after 4-6 months if your doing alot of repairs, so make sure to order and extra bulb. Also helps out in case you accidently drop kick yours someday

I took your advice and looked to purchase that new uv light. I currently have 40-13 12 volt which came with my kit. It costs $130. According to the DeltaKits write up it is their best 12 volt. I assumed you were recommending thier 40-14 which is $110, but it's a 12 volt also.

Do I already have the better light? Which models are others using for fast curing?

The 40-13 is a great all around light, but if you're looking at just speed, the 40-14 is faster.

The best w/s cleaner around is a water soaked rag with a splash of mineral spirits or bug and tar remover on the rag. In the full sun this can't be beat. The water disolves the bugs and the solvent cuts the road grime. Also newspaper is the very best for cleaning off the glass. Also cheap.
