Creative Company Names?? care to share

Hi every one, I will be starting with in the next week, I still have to register a business name and get my materials after that I intend on (COITSTERING) for clients.
My question is, does anyone have a company name they thought would have been good after they started with their own, that they can pass on to me in NC. without being in conflict? Does anyone have any downloadable logo's that look good on a shirt they can or would not mind sharing?
my wife suggest Chips Away, I also thought of GL-ass cracks (keep your windshields off crack)

any way if you have any suggestions or logo help please let me know

Be sure to do your due diligence when deciding on a name. I figured "Chip Gone" was pretty safe for a business name. In the year I've been in business, I have located a Chips Away & a Chip-B-Gone in the same town. I'm thinking of changing my business name.

1. Easy to remember for the customer.
2. Easy to spell.
3. Catchy and conveys instantly what you are doing.

I have gone with A Touch of Glass and I have registered the name in Cabbarrus county,NC and when my ad came out in the Charlotte/Mecklenberg Yellow Book I found another company was using that name in SC and I have found that my ad is a little more eye catching. It hasn't hurt me that they are listed as well. I think it brings into mind that I am part of a bigger, more established company. People are always saying "Oh yeah! I've heard of you guys" It's great! Now, if I can only get the people that do call me from my ad to actually read the ad and stop calling me for ws replacements

Another thing to consider, especially if you plan to be listed in the Yellow Pages (and normally, simple listings are included with a business phone line;), Try and start your business name with one of the first letters in the alphabet (or even a number). This would ensure that your listing appears in/near the beginning of your listed category.

Scratchy & Dave C very true on both accounts, after reading your comments the one name that pops into my head over and over agian is

A FREE WINDSHIELD REPAIR easy to remember, easy to spell, catchy and conveys instantly what we do. ( if going after the insurance biz) and has the (A) Dave.
I am sure you all can give me the positive and the negative of this one, and I can take it, I am a big boy now.

A touch kudo's to you as well, sounds like an opportunity to make some referral $$ . People tend to trust the referral of one company to another, specially if they are yellow page shopping and are unsure of who to trust, If you say to them, (I recommend xyz co. they may not be the cheapest in town but they are one of the best in the industry, and you wont have to worry about your widshield falling out because some one did not replace it correctly)
This will give xyz credibility without you having to give a price, and put food for thought into the clients mind of getting it done right, you could also add, mention my name to (Tom, Bob, who ever) and he will take good care of you. Of course you would have an agreement with xyz to give you a referral fee..

ON SECOND THOUGHT after re reading the " A Free" name it appears to me I could be setting myself up for every cheap bastard out there to call me, and cutting out the retail guys the good part is I have time to mull this over. Your suggestions are welcome. Thank you all again

You're going to have some idiot call one day complaining that your title is offering free windshield repair and you have to give it to him even if he don't have comp insurance. Sometimes the title may be too good to be true which people say it isn't.

Just my 2 cents.

I know, put a subscript next to your company name and on the 2nd line of the title, put With Comprehensive Insurance. J/k..

in search of a name for my company i was was going to name it Zach's Glass after my 3 year old son, but in doing futher research Z is at the end of the alphabet that would have put my company at the end of the listings. after hours and hours of tring to figure out what to call my company we came up with 10 top names. i had to call the secratry of state here in texas to check and see if anyone else had these names incorprated. finaly we came up with one that had not been used. Advantage Windshield Repair LLC. the name puts me up front in the yellow pages and its easy to remember. good luck in your search. by the way contact your street department in your area, and tell them they need to seal coat the streets in your area. thats what the city of midland is doing now and you know what happens when you mix windshield and gravel $$$$$$$$$$ just kidding dont call, keep safe
