Sorry to post this non wsr related subject here but I know one of the members here also works for FEMA. We took a direct hit from a cat 2 hurricane last saturday and am still without power. I could use some advice from someone who knows how disaster relief benifits work, thanks for listining.

CPR,

Check your private message...Not sure if it helps, but it might be a start.

The Red Cross will give you all the info and come up with imediate benifits (check/card on the spot) We had a flood here a couple years ago FEMA takes a little while to process claims The Red Cross is the first stop When my house burned last year they came right out to the house while the fire trucks were still there gave me $300 for clothes and paid for a hotel for a week real nice folks to deal with ( only 3 weeks after my son died yea no one dared stand real close to me for awhile because of the possibility of a lightning strike) Good luck! On the upside all that hail and flying junk probably left you plenty of work

Thanks guys, I'm just trying to get them tell us if they will pay for a generator or not. I spend all day waiting in lines, one for gas, one for ice and water, one for canned food, one more for roofing supplys.

The kids are out of school indefinatly and bored beyond belief, and on top of that we have a 8:00 pm curfew and an alcohol ban to boot. Looking back 100 mph winds for 24 hours was the easy part, we have an eta of 09/19 for the power to be back up.
