Friday afternoon I was returning from a repair job ,when a couple pulled up beside me tooting their horn and pointing to a short crack . We pulled into the next gas station , agreed i would repair the crack ,then started talking price . I explained it probably would be free and we could call his insurance co. to verify . He asked how much cash . After agreeing on a price I started my repair job. He then asked his wife to call her father since he was their ins. agent on what to do. after completeing my job I got my ticket book out wrote him a recipt then after handing me a out of town check . he then asked me how he could get his money back from his ins. I preceeded to tell him to ask his father in law . I really got the impression I was getting bafuzeled . anyone else feel the same.

Probably most of us have faced similar situations. Be happy he paid you and put the check in the bank asap.

I always fill out an invoice with all the info needed for a customer to get reimbursment . Whether they pay ,check ,cash or credit card.

Just make sure you get thier drivers license # on the check, if it turns to rubber you can let the law collect for you.

sounds like every customer to me dont get what he did to be a bad customer.
He asked you to fix it paid you and then asked how he could get reimursed should he decide to use his insurance at a later date. Other than an out of town check (which I would have accepted without a thought ) I cant see how this was any different than every day stuff?
