Windshield Repair Forum

I'm about to buy the eliminator kit from GT (Glass Technologies). Would you recommend this as a dependable product? Would you sugggest something else. From all the experienced forum members in here, can you give me your honest opinion about that machine and kit?

BTW, I've been an avid reader of this forum. You guys are really a positive force for newbies who want to get into WSR. I've found most of my inspiration here! In march when the fiscal year begins for High School. I'll quit my job being an ESL teacher and work for myself as a WSR tech!!!! Thanks you all for the words of wisdom kept here!

I would recommend a piston type injector system like the one Delta sells. They are simple and easy to use and do wonderfull repairs everytime. As far as the one you are looking at now I have never used and cant advise you on that equipment. Theres many different systems on the market that use the piston type injector. Theres some that are probably better built and make a stronger vacuum that in turn will complete the repair a little faster but they all can produce quality repairs every time. CWREPAIR

Look into one of the manual systems from GT. I think if you get Goldstar's opinion(she is a loyal GT customer) that's what she would suggest.

Thanks for the suggestion! I was wondering, why would you suggest the manual system over the eliminator system? Also, how good are the resins from GT as compared to other WSR resins?

Thanks a bunch! I notice Delta sells all manual kits for WSR. Could you tell me what are some advantages of manual vs machine kit? Mahalo!

I dont use a machine kit and never have. To me as only my personal opinion the Eliminator machine looks like a lot of unnecessary gadgetry that would take most of the control out of the techs hands. I like to be in as much control over how the repair process is going. To me that makes for what I feel will be the best quality repair each time. The manual repair bridges are easy to clean and take care of. Also there more affordable to purchace, and maintain in good working condition. I do hope someone in this forum that uses or has used a machine type repair unit can give you more information or there opinions on what they feel the advantages of using a machine over manual repairs. But for me, I still believe in the manual way. CWREPAIR

I agree, stick with the manual injectors. Even though the Eliminator might look more high-tech to your customers, the finished repairs won't be any better than with the manual injectors--and that's what they'll be looking at when you're gone. I'd never go back to a computerized unit, I spent more time doing the repairs twice because the pressure kept blowing the resin out from underneath the seal if I didn't get it perfectly level.

I use GT's VP-5000. I have never used a manual injector or the Eliminator from GT. You will have complete control over your repair using the VP-5000 but from what I have seen and read of the Eliminator, you will not.
The Eliminator and VP-5000 are heavier and larger than your average equipment. I have added the PRISM to my injector with great results.
As you have read on this forum and will possibly hear more, Delta's equipment is very popular and gives quality results as does GT's. I also have used GT resins for 11 years with great results.

We use the injector type repair systems. Machine types can be cumbersome, and in some instances, (i.e. vertical windshields on schoolbuses) almost impossible to use.
