For you that wonder if cold calls work here is an example
Today I didnt get started till noon (had a physical dude! you wanna do what?) It was a nice sunny day only 25f(about as cold as the docs finger) but sunny and we havnt had many nice days this winter so I figured I better get a little work done. I went to a little industrial park wandered the lot of a building supply company found 5 cars with chips in the employee lot and went inside. Gave the guy inside my sales pitch and he helped me find the owners of the cars (one was his) 3 bit 2 were insurance 1 $40 cash 1 was $89 ins and the other $50 so I figure it was a good stop while working on the lot a customer with a pickup and snowplow stops and ask me if I have time to go around the corner to his warehouse and look at his company trucks(the guys in the supply store had sold him for me) The truck he was driving had 3 chips I agreed to meet him after I finished where I was at. I get to his buildng to find 5 trucks one with a big crack (beyond repair)
and the others 2 had 3 chips and the other 2 each had 1 he informed me that his company had glass coverage so I called them in his ins pays $69/15/15 I do the repairs and get ready to leave its about 2:30 and ive made $520 in 2 1/2 hrs so i figure call it a day about then my cell rings its the guy from the first stop one of his guys changed his mind and could I come back and fix it? sure I get there and do another $40 cash the boss comes out and asked do i ever get to st albans? I tell him I live near there and drive through it on the way home. I agree to stop off and fix the 2 in his motorhome for $80 and the one in his wifes car for $40 Im home by 5pm and have mad over $680
The moral of the story sure sometimes people tell you no but keep on asking because you never know when you will hit the repair lotto. earlier in the week I did over $400 at a plumbing supply warehouse the work is there just ask for it.
