Hey guys,

Well I went out today and recieved three jobs within 3 hours. Mind you, about
an hour and a half of that was walking to different business parks and getting a lot of no's. Man was it hot today! 99 degrees.Mind you thats not really a lot of jobs but I am very pleased with that number for my first day. I did one insurance job and two cash. So a total of $150 in three short hours. Oh yeah I did a couple of surface pits for a few people for free. They were extatic when I said no charge to them. They said they are going to refer me to everyone they know. One, I might get a fleet account out of it.:) I was hooked even before doing a job, Now I am really hooked. My goal from here on out is to do 4 a day. Then the next week up it by one. Then the next week up it again and so on. Sorry I am rambling I am just excited. If I keep this up theres no stopping me.

Thanks, Scott P

Scott,

OUTSTANDING!!!!

Set your goals, meet your goals and the only way that you can fail is if you lie to yourself;)

Just remember, you will have days when everybody says "YES!" And there will be days when everybody says "NO(:"

This is one of those businesses where the old motto, "quit while you are ahead," does not apply. If you are on a roll/positive streak, keep on going!!!!

It's not like what it used to be. 12 years ago I might miss one out of 20. Today I only get about 1 out of 20.
Yet some people on the forum say they are going great guns. I live 50 miles North of Houston and you have windshield repairmen all over the place. Some doing it for 10 dollars a chip.
I used to make $2,000 a week doing this but no more.
It just maybe your area or your sales presentation and let them know their insurance company will pick up the tab.
Business cards and flyers have always been a waste of time and effort.
Also keep plugging that 90% of chips turn into a long crack.
Don't waste your time on old cars. Do only the new.
And keep plugging.

While I agree somewhat I will add there are more vehicles on the roads today than there was 12 years ago.

There are still price cutters everywhere, and for the most part QUALITY for them is not concern #1. I've seen a Nationwide Repair "team" tech, oooze resin into a stone shot (ok, actually dripped a drop of resin onto it), pit fill it and call it done. This was after he had the customer sign a waiver stating if they were not happy the cost of the repair would be taken off the cost of the replacement.

Old car owners will pay just as a new car owner will. In fact they will generally pay quicker.. They like their old car and intend to keep it or else they would have a new car already.. Now, if he had said don't waste your time on an apparent old stone shot, I would have agreed.

Business cards are a godsend, the silent salesman of our industry.. Easy to get, easier to pass out. I give my customers (2). One for their glove box, right next to the registration card and one to give to a friend of theirs.. For every happy, satisfied customer they will tell 5 people.. For every dis-satisfied customer, they will tell 10 people.. So, your presentation of yourself, your workmanship, and your attitude towards the guy that can't afford the new car goes along ways toward them telling other people to use you..
