FYI...regarding Insurance

I was informed today at one of my dealership accounts that the owner was asking all vendors for proof of insurance. This is no problem since I carry Commercial Liability and Garage Keepers, but was curious as to why the owner was asking vendors for proof. I've been servicing this account for almost 11 years and have never been asked to provide proof to them.
Another vendor had hit one of the new vehicles on this lot and had NO insurance. He is no longer one of their vendors. Do you think you should have insurance?

I had the same thing happen about a year ago. The girl working for the rim repair guy was moving a towncar and ran it into a parked Deville. Everyone was asked for proof of insurance the next day.

Car dealers everywhere are requesting liability insurance from their vendors more and more .... their attorneys want to make sure they're off the hook if you damage something or what if one of our/your vehicles accidently injures someone on the car dealer's property. etc.

I had to get insurance to register with lynx and safelite. It was very inexpensive.
