Chip repair telemarketing

My friend was telling me last night that he has been contacted three times in the last week from a Chip repair telemarketer. I have never been approached this way, replacement guys yes but not repair, it must work or they wouldn't be contacting people this way? Your thoughts, anyone here using this approach and if so how's it working? Do you pay a service to do the marketing for you or do it yourself? When you get to the prospective appointment how often do you find damage that cannot be repaired or other reasons why the repair cannot be completed etc...Scott

Ha, yet another one that comes from my earlier mentioned mix of various components for the promotion of the wsr busniness.
We have a call centre agent here in the offices, who his sole job is telemarketing. And, yes, we are repair only. But no, we do never contact privat individuals. What a stupid, ineffecient way to contact the privat motorists. Way to expensive, then you better advertize ......
We therefore ONLY use telemarketing for fleets.
Again, we do this for ten years now and it has been proven to be very cost effective. You should try it. Forget small fishes like Joe average around the corner and his one vehicle ..... (privat individuals).
Further to your question, how often we do find work ......... know your statistics Maxryde! Every one in ..... vehicles has a damage. At fleets, where vehicles are more intensively used, that every 1 in ....... vehicles number is higher.
We find ALWAYS repairs to be done right away.
Go out and have a look.
If you do not want to do the telemarketing yourself, or just can not, find a pro to do it for you, it will pay off.

Sounds like a great idea for fleet accounts. Do you have a copy of the script or kinda the info you ask/say when your guy does the telemarketing? Also visiting the fleets is a good way to generate business.

Calling the fleet guys to set a a appointment makes sense calling individuals would make as much sense as peeing on the electric fence way to many less painful and more productive ways to get customers.

Possibly in the US but I dont think so in Canada... judging by the amount of calls I get to get my furnace cleaned out for winter! Has anyone ever tried the residential, just wondering??

I would assume, GlassStarz, that he is not as convinced as you are that it IS a waste of time. I would imagine also, that the people that do it successfully also don't consider it a "waste of time."

If you search this site you will find alot of valuable info on how to find buisness. Some involve fleet accounts and the best way to approach them this will bring steady repeatable results .Another method you will find is cold call for those energetic enough to go cold call the rewards are huge. The site will tell you how and where to set up a tent location or many other options for success.
My point is why waste your time sitting around calling people asking whether they have a car and if so does it have a chip in the windshield and if that condition exists are they interested in you fixxing it? with all the proven tried and true methods that exist again I ask "WHY WASTE YOUR TIME?" People hate telemarketers and calling them will do nothing but iritate the majority of them and in doing so insure that when they do get a chip they dont call you.
Again success in this buisness is easy dont try to reinvent the wheel just follow instruction and go out and work

The reason I initiated this thread was my own lack of belief in this type of marketing. I was told by some of my own customers that they had responded to this kind of market approach in a positive way, another friend had repeated calls of this kind in a week
