Do the windshield repair techs that primarly do car lots find it hard to keep their accounts. Just talked to a friend of mine who does interior work. He has been doing this type of work for about 28 yrs. He had a good account with the Lexsus dealership for over 16 years. I have seen the work that he does, it is very good, one day he walks into the managers office after walking the lot to get approval for his list and is informed that they no longer need his service.

I worked in auto sales for 20 yrs prior to doing this and believe me when I say there is no protected account in the car buisness! Managment changes often bring in new people other comapanies that offer more products are an easy way to lose your account. The car lot doesnt like to deal with bunches of vendors thier time is money and time spent talking to vendors is time lost from auto sales. Also often something happens internally and its always easier to blame the vendor combine that with politics you get the picture all you can do is do the best job you can under promise and over deliver. Diversify your client base never let one become to big a percentage of your buisness because if you lose them you lose a big percentage . I have diversified my offering with paint touch up and scratch removal it has helped me get into places I couldnt get before and make me more irreplacable
