Hello

Post by ColKlink »

I am in the research phase of getting my WR business started, and have been reading a lot of your post. I think this forum is great for getting answers. I have been in the auto repair industry for the last 25 years, and have recently moved to a new job and area.
I do have one question about the different systems available out there, I have looked at GTGlass, Glass Mechanix, Delta, Windhield Dr.
I was wondering if I could ask you all for some feedback as to which system you feel is the best, and why.
Thanks for any info

Hi, ColKlink, welcome on board.
You'll probably get a lot of responses to your question. And, they'll all end up with the message -- that it's no so much the quipment as it is the individual. I'm a Delta Kits user and haven't had experience with other manufacturer's equipment because I can't afford to be buying equipment. So, I can't speak about other's. I can say that I haven't had any problems with Delta and their support and training is great. No matter what brand equipment, training and practice is the key. Keep it simple and practice a lot.

Ditto, I have equipment fron Delta, GT, GW, GM, and others. I prefer to use Glass Mechanix, but any of the top manufacturors equipment will do the job, the most important thing for you is to chose one your comfortable with. In your case I would call the companies you are interested in and ask questions, and from the responses you get it will give you an idea if you are comfortable with that company. The equipment is secondary in most cases(cheap tools are cheap tools, but once again the top companies are there for a reason). Once you commit to a company then commit to training and practice, follow that up with more practice, then go out and get some practice. Be confident, professional, and honest, the rest will fall into place.
