A friend told me he heard of a glass repair guy who made good monet going to housing developments offering to fix chips on the house glass caused by construction workers, he charged a few hundred dollars since it is $1000 or so to replace some of them. Also what about the beebee holes you see all the time on restaurant windows? is that something you could do with windshield repair kits?

Contact Glass Mechanix. They sell a backing plate that covers the large cone-sized area of the plate glass chip and an extra thick plate
glass chip repair resin (although I've used their crack and pit resin with good results) which enables you to use a regular GM injector to fill the chip. Just avoid any chips with cracks (it doesn't work like w.s. repair) and be extra careful since plate glass can be very dangerous to work on.
