Windshield Buffing

Post by dwrs »

I do a lot of repairs for used car lots. Several have asked me if I am going to get into buffing windows. Seems a big problem is wiper scratches. I don't know anything about it. I know there is equipment out there to do the job. Anybody have any knowledge or advise about this? Cost? Thanks

windshield buffing is very time consuming to complete, but it does offer you a good way to get your foot in the door of a lot of car dealers and trucking/transport companies.

I don't do a lot of windshield buffing if I can help it, but on occasion when I do need to do one, I use the sandpaper discs from GT Glass from their 'Scratch Magic' system http://www.gtglass.com/scratchremoval.htm

On a pre-inspection of the windshield, usally when you have wiper blade scratches they are to deep for repair.
