Repair Curing Tabs - Sticking to Pit Filler

I recently purchased a couple of packages of curing tabs from Delta. I think these tabs are standard throughout the industry so whom I bought them from should not matter.
I purchased them because I like being able to reuse them and they are not as easy to loose in a light breeze..
The problem I have, the pit filler I use sticks to the tab and I have to almost destroy the tab when taking it off. What am I doing wrong. I use GT resins and pit filler.

My only 2 thought are
1-Are the tabs clean?
2-Are you curing long enough?

Burnman,
You need to turn the tab over and use the other side! Just kidding...the only time this happened to me was when the customer had used rain-x on his windshield.

I had the same thing happen with rain-x. I also have been having problems lately and I think it was due to the fact that my pit filler was about 3 years old LOL.

Burnman,
Why didn't you just wait until tomorrow and call Jeff for an answer? I have used GT resins going on 17 years with no problems except for Rain X type products.
They are so slick that the resin cannot adhere to the glass, so it sticks to the plastic tab. Once the Rain X is inside the break , the resin cannot adhere to the glass either. Visable or failed repair.
Hydrophobic products are our enemy, and yet some of you want to sell it to your customers. Unbelievable!
Don't ever believe anyone who brags about thier income in this business.

I Work In Hot Temps And Sometimes Have That Problem. Like Tooldini Says It Could Also Be The Age Of Your Pit Filler.

You say that you hace to destroy the tabs to get them off, does this mean the resin, the glass and the tab are stuck together if so it discounts the glassx idea. Are your tabs smooth on one side and rough on the other if so it must be used smooth side down. We use overhead projector film and this happens every time we use it rough side down. Which I must add in defence is not very often.
Billd why the problem with people giving others an idea of what sort of income they can expect. If you distrust the likes of me you are welcome to come over and inspect my books. As is anyone who buys training from me.

There Were Some Tabs From Delta That Had An Issue With Sticking, Jeff Replaced Some That We Purchased A While Back. You Must Have Gotten Some Old Stock.

Last year we had a few packages that went out that, when used over and over, and in excessive heat, had issues with sticking. If he got them from us "recently" as he said, there is no "old stock." Thanks for the help though maxryde.
Burnman,
As always though, with any of our products you can return them and we can see if there is a problem with them (at least with our resins). Each tab though is not meant to be used permanently, and must be changed once in a while. (Technically they're single use tabs, but you can and should get more use out of them). Try a new tab and see if you're still having a problem.

Sure Jeff, Hope I wasn't sounding negative there, :eusa_doh: What I meant to say is that if some how there was a problem like I experienced, that the good folks at Delta would do as they did with me and step to the plate with a good remedy for anything that was an issue with their products, as usual.:eusa_danc
