I was just wondering the most windshields some has fixed in one day. I've heard of people doing 20+... The most I have seen in our ranks was 18 windshields two days in a row. Keep in mind none of this was appointment work or fleets...

Back in the eighties, in the uk, most windscreens were fitted in a rubber gasket. So fitting screens was fast and easy. I used to run a branch with 10 fitters and we had a contest to see who was the quickest to remove and refit a windscreen on an Austin Maxi ( one of the easiest). The winner did it in 77 seconds !!. Our busiest time of the week was a Saturday morning, when most people would call into the fitting branch. We would average between 30 -45 jobs by 12.00 p.m. Our biggest claim to fame is when we did a charity event, etching the registration numbers onto car windows ( all round the car), we did a total of 450 cars in 7 hours and raised

That is hot Mafsu, I haven't tracked my own count but if it is half of that I would be happy. My bottom line is 30. bucks a shield so that would make for a good day!!!!
Lets see, like, 3 x 4 = 1200 bucks right? Nice

My best day was 25 repairs on a truck fleet. Many of the trucks had several chips on their windshields and most of them were the cheap flat windshields found on older rigs. What saved the day for the company was that I was able to save two windshields on newer rigs that they were paying $350 to replace. I ended up making something over $500 that day but had to drive cross state and back. Total time for the day was 14 hours and the temperature was in the 90's. I used 4 injectors on that job. I don't recommend that hard of a day unless the rent is overdue.

In terms of money, I went back to look at how much I made on the day I did 42 windshields. I also repaired nicks on turnbacks for the same rental fleet that day. My total for the day was $2155.00 . When the rental fleets are busy with turnbacks $700-1000 a day is not unusual.
