got the delta kit about 3 hrs ago, already been watching the video,taking notes, read the manual and already repaired 1 bullseye and 1 combo star breat on my pathfinder, both came out real well. the only issue i found is that i needed to add pit resin and cure both of them twice, because there was still a pit that was not smooth. any sugestions?

Thanks again to everyone on this forum, it has been a wealth of info and you guys have great advice.

Two things are typical causes of pits that aren't smooth when starting out.

#1. Pushing down on the tab. Don't. Add a couple drops of pit resin, and lay the tab over it without pushing. The idea is to create a mound that you'll scrape flat once cured.

#2. Scraping at the wrong angle. Scrape at a 90 degree angle, perpendicular to the windshield. Scraping from any other angle can cause the blade to bend slightly, pulling out part of the pit.

I find that even if you follow the guidelines you still get shrinkage in the deep pits and have to apply twice.I think that shrinkage is a natural result of the cureing process that you only notice in deep pits but always happens just like when cureing primer surfacers in the autobody industry the same thing happens when trying to fill big surface irregularities.However the thicker the product you are useing the less the shrinkage generally speaking.thats how I see it.

Uh...no.

If you're doing a repair properly with our system, you should not have to apply pit resin twice. Can't speak for other systems or resins though.

Two additional causes for needing to add more pit resin; small bubbles in the pit and/or RainX or wax which will prohibit pit resin from adhereing properly.
