does anyone use these and do they get repeat businees from handing out to customers that u have done a repair for?

I tend not to give these out very often but they are part of my toolkit. I will use them when I have done a fleet check on a dry day but have not had time to do all the repairs. You will find if you give them out to the general public most will put them on the inside of the screen to stop the water getting into the car. Not on the outside to protect the chip.

I go to 'Current Labels' and buy rolls of address stickers with my name and phone #'s printed on them. I cut them apart and glue one on each business card.
1200 address stickers - $21.40 = ~ $18/thousand.
My business cards = ~ $20/thousand.
My labor on a rainy or 100 degree-plus day = $0.
Glue from the dollar store = $1.
Works out to about 4 cents for an Astrobright Terra Green business card with a printed chipsaver attached that usually turns into a conversation piece so the customer might remember to call me the next time. I tell them to keep one in the car.
Add a 20 cent refrigerator magnet card and you've invested less than 25 cents and hopefully gained a repeat customer.

The address stickers are clear cellophane stickers like pieces of tape and they come stuck to a white backing paper like kids' stickers except these come on a roll of 600. I cut them into individual pieces and then flatten them out for about a week. Then I put a drop of cheap-o glue on one of my business cards and put a sticker on the glue. When I have about a half dozen glued, I put a paper weight on them and do 6-7 more and keep going until I have a stack that'll last 2-3 weeks.

As with a lot of this stuff, you can do this kind of thing yourself or buy ready-made from somebody else. I got into this biz partially to feed my 'tinker' gene. I fix my own tools, I write my ads, I'm trying to do my website, I do my own books and taxes and investing - to me it's all part of the life.
