My application to join SGC safelite was turned down LOL said they had enough techs in my area and my application would remain in the file.I wasn't torn up over it at all just found it funny. There aren't very many repair techs in my area at all. I did see at a house near my dads that had a safelite van there every evening LOL so that is probably why they don't want me. Local safelite guy in my area I guess. Any one else experience this?

why would a company give the competition buisness? when you go to a store do the send you across the street to buy from their competitor? safelite is a company that does replacement and repair they have a contract with some insurance companies to do their buisness I dont understand why people keep writing here all upset that safelite wont send them referalls DUH!
find your own work and they will have to pay you for the stuff you drum up from the clients that use SGC
Think about it when a customer calls you do you send them elsewhere when its something you do for a living?

It is called Steering and Restriction of Trade. Both illegal and not funny as the little guys (and most of the big guys too) continue to get bullied around with these tactics.
You just have to keep learning and understand that if you have the will, you can do just fine in the business. Their day will come, rest assured.

When they ask if I'll accept $55 for the first repair and $0 for any additional, I say (for the tape) "I'll take $55 for 1 repair."

I heard they were known for steering and didn't statefarm or someone start a lawsuit against them for that reason?

TOOLDINI,

I had the same rejection, for the same reasons when I tried. I kept persuing it and was approved. I posted about this in a previous post awhile back. If you feel it is important for your business model then make a few phone calls to the vendor relations/services.

Thanks SGT but I don't really care about it,, I just thought it was funny that they had a tech in my area so suddenly there are too many techs in the area which isn't true LOL.
