Just received an advertisement insert in the mail showing a windshield replacement shop in the DFW area expanding into my market area. What's of interest, according to their website, is...
A) They will not repair a chip if it's in the acute area or if it's larger than a quarter (size); and,
B) They publish coupons, no expiration dates, for $50 - $100 off your deductable for replacements. Isn't this frowned upon by the ins. cos?

Their repair costs is the same as mine if you take your car to their shop; or $20 more for mobile service. I don't think they'll be too much competition!

I used to live in Dallas Texas. First off in the entire state of Texas and most others this is considered Illigal. That being said tons of companies do it. If you want you can always hire an attorney and have them given a cease and desist order. :eusa_wall

Bois,

In my area networks control everything! Their job is simply to satisfy customer and insurance company needs! If customer ask for a discount on replacement they will always find a shop to provide that service for them. Legal or not it happens daily.
