No Response???

no one has responded with any advice or any info to this post I made a few days ago, so here it is again. .....

I am curious if anyone here has had any sucsess with direct mail, like a company intoduction letter, along with a brochure and business card. anyone tried it. I am also a realtor, so I can pull up radius searches in my area and print out address labels fast and easy. Sent out about 200 today. I will keep you posted on what happens.

Also one more thought. Instead of going to dealership accts, asking for the manager who seems to change every month. what about going straight to the owner?

There is a big dealer in my area, he owns 5 out of the 7 nearby dealers. I have been talking with him a bit, and want to set up a meeting with him next week to try and get all of the accts. Has anyone done this. Do you recomend it?
I also want to work up a plan, so i can do all his used cars, and work a few days out of there large Toyota service dept upselling cars in the service drive. They bill it on the cust invoice, along with any other service. No ins jobs, only cash. That way the dealer is also making money. Just a thought, what do you think?

Thanks everyone

Sincerely,
Jared

Jared,

Do not get discouraged by a lack of response. There is no bad idea. Some may work better than others though. Remember what I said, try everything. Saturation is the key to name recognition.

We have never done a mailer. I think that a mailer is a good part of tiered prospecting though for accounts. Ultimatley you have to get your face in front of those prospects though. Now if your targeting Tom, Dick and Harry it is a little harder to get in there faces so advertising or some sort of public exposure is key.

Good luck with the brochure I sent you. Do not get discouraged if you attempts do not produce the desired results you seek. Ultimately I think you will find the best way to make a living at this initialy is pounding the street. You have to make it happen as people overall procrastinate when it comes to there windshields or plain ole wait till it cracks out. It is just not that urget to most people or they just do not know about repair. So just get out there and make it happen.

Good luck.

Brian,

Thanks for your support, and also for the brochure. I have used direct mail advertising in Real Estate and mortgage many times before with lots of sucsess, but your right it does take time. Thanks again, hopefully it will work. I am also out busting my butt everyday pounding pavement and knocking on dooors, and visiting business all day. Just looking for a way to make the phone ring and generate some extra bonus income. Hey by the way Craigslist has been working well for me too, and its free.

Thanks

Good to hear with craigs list. I tried that over here and had zero luck. Just not big enough yet in this area. Send me your brochure, I liked to see your ideas. Keep pushing.

SGT is right on the money..you have to pound the pavement..advertising has been of little success to me over the years..i have never done a mailing...but i would imagine the law of averages might come into play..as far as dealers go i wouldn't bother the owner he will just refer you to the used car manager..you just have to be yourself no pain no gain

I would always try for the top person on any company they are the people who do not change. If he refers you to his manager it makes it look like you have his blessing. I do know people in the UK who have tried mail shots with very little response. Personaly I like to get my face in front of people. It does help if you are extremely good looking like me.LOL

I just recently sent out cards with my info, etc on them to alot of random people in my city and have had quite a few calls from it. I didnt expect very many calls, but many people in this area dont know of any wsr companies besides the main one on the highway. Good luck with it.
