i was wondering if anyone advertises with yellowpages.com as opposed to the actual yellow pages phone book. If so, how is it. does it generate many calls? website traffic? I am considering it because its far less than the book form of advertising, and i feel many more people are using online directories everyday. Any thoughts or sucess or failures?

Thanks

Jared

I have found that advertising on google and yahoo local has worked well.

I just got a call today from somebody...

The best part is that it is free.

I advertise in 2 yellow page books. One servers Commerce and the other Hunt County. I've only gotten 4 referrals this year of which 2 were last week. They're not cost effective.

Sorry to go on and on... but I looked up my city and state along with "windshield repair" on Google and excite & found the sites my competitors were on. I then signed up for free. Take some slow day and spend some hourse searching for your service... you will be surprised how quickly & freely you will have a strong web presence... You can use Jackson, WY as an example... check google and see if anything comes up for my business, WINDSHIELD DOCTOR - I don't dominate the web... but I am there...
