How long have you been in business? How many repairs did you start out averaging a week compared to how many you are doing now? How long did it take you to work up to the amount you are doing now?

Thanks,
Wayne

How many repairs is not as important as how much you earn. Work clever not hard. It is easy tobe the busiest if you are the cheapest. I would have thought about 25 to 35 repairs a week a nice figure to aim for. Took me about 6 weeks to get up to this number when I started. Now I do fewer due to the fact I do not give it as much time.

I do 20 a week and average 100 minutes a job including paperwork. That's about 33 hours a week for a gross of around $55K a year.

JT,

Thats more like @ 100 minutes or at least 45-60 minutes per repair. It makes me wonder about someone that completes a repair in 15 minutes.:eusa_snoo

It is quality...not quantity that leads to success in this business.

Layne, I am afraid sales ability also has a lot to do in terms of how much you earn. Mind you income is not the only way to judge personal success. The replacement guys in the UK do far more repairs than the quality repair only guys. Why, sales and marketing.

Screenman, honestly don't take offense to this but .... just for the heck of it I did the math on your advertising. You say 25-35 (now you do way less than this since the cut-back) per week. So , lets just say 30 and that's the high side. So, 30 x 52 (weeks) = 1560 x 18 (years) = 28080. Not 33,000 as advertised. Did I miss something? Again, don't take offense I'm just curious.

Thanks,
BOYD

I'm just a little guy trying to supplement my income. I've been doing this for 12 years and average 6-10 per week. I'm a school teacher and advertise in the Yellow pages. This is an awesome business. I'd hate to do it full time, too many rainy, snowy days. I love the extra 250-400$ per week.

I have been set-up through lynx since March and I average about 10 insurance jobs a week. 2 dealerships that I average about 8 a week for both of them. I probably do at least 2 cash jobs per week from my yellowpages.com add. I am looking to go full time. For now my part time job is technology work 32 hours a week. I am still looking for more work and trying to get the headlight restoration up and running.
