We all drill into glass and see the powered residue go trickling down the windshield or blown away in the wind. Any danger? You bet there is.
A friend of mine had worked in a similar field burring glass for years and developed a mysterious cough.
He, thinking he had cancer had it checked out and came back with a negative report.
The cough persisted.
further tests revealed that he had inhaled tiny bits of powered glass over the years and it couldn't be removed.
He worked until he couldn't work anymore but I watch him literally cough himself to death during his last days.
Nice chap he was and no one could do anything to help him.
Watch what you breath.

its called silicosios been a danger with sand and glass bead blasters for decades unless your sucking up the dust with a straw we dont do enough dust in a lifetime to equate a days work in the blasting field. Common sence and basic safe proceedures apply in all work places

Its another one of those things they didnt tell most people who work in the stuff untill the 80s and didnt make it widely known until the 90,s unfotunatly a bunch of auto painters are now finding out what benzene does as well you can never be to well protected and always take excess precautiond is the rule. the reason the dentist always wears saftey glasses is that those little drills often break and can put an eye out but you seldom see a WR guy with them when useing the same drills? I trust no one when they say its safe I wear gloves I wear eye protection the dust is a non issue for us but there are plent of other bears hiding out there in the woods saftey first second and third
