repaired chips reappearing...

I've had 2 repaired windshield come back in the last couple weeks(now that the temperature has dropped).
One was repaired in october-astarburst chip. The other damage was repaired 2 weeks ago,my own truck, about a 5 inch crack.
The crack was repaired the same day that it appeared. The starburst was about a 4 day old repair.
Am I to assume that there was moisture in the damage and this is what caused the repairs to fail?
I could see it being possible on the chip, but the crack was never exposed to moisture-as in rain or fog-and was repaired only a couple hours after it appeared.
Is my delta filler aleady junk?
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

The crack reappeared because you used a chip resin in it. Most chip resins can't withstand severe cold and will break apart. That is why whenever you are fixing a crack over 2 inches you need to use very thick resins. I learned this lesson to many times the hard way. However I finaly learned.

Interesting, I have seen old repairs from other repairmen and the filler has turned brown and some have fell out. Makes me wonder if mine are doing the same. Hmmm.

We are doing long cracks every day with magnibond without any problems. Did you cure properly and what caused the original crack. As for moisture I dry out ever time, but then again we have been wet over here every day for about 4 months.

I had one fail on me awhile ago which was my first crack repair at night and that it was raining heavily. It was quite depressing. The crack not only reappeared but spread further. Two lessons i learnt that night, take your time on a dryout and secondly ensure that it gets a good nice cure.

I haven't any cracks come back to me yet that have failed. However I got a good look at a friends car that I repaired a year ago and although it hasn't spread and the last 8 inches or so is just fine, the rest of it looks horrible. If I had to use that for advertising, I'd be saying I'm the competition.

That's not an easy question to answer.
What was the temperature when you performed the repairs? I require 32 degrees F or higher.
How long did you cure? I was trained to cure chips for 2 minutes under pressure, but I learned to cure for 5 minutes to be safe (prior to filling the pit). Cracks I cure 2 minutes and then let the sun do the rest.
Have your resins been frozen? I always bring my resins indoors when not in use.
