i had my windshield repaired a few days ago and thought, that's pretty interesting... told my daughter that I was gonna look into the biz. She thought I was kidding. I've now looked at systems and bought one through E-bay (Delta - used) and am anxiously waiting for it to arrive. I am planning on getting a practice shield from a local replacement shop and start practicing some of the procedures detailed on this forum. You guys have provided a wealth of info. I hope once I start practicing I can more fully understand what some of it means.
Cant wait to see what it's all about.

You'd be much better off if you could get some training from Delta.

Screenman,
It seems people here are to busy to take the time to fill out a few simple questions in th profile to tell some of us older hands a little about themselves. However they are never to busy to ask for advice or help or how to do this or that. I know several of the old ones that will not comment on a question or plea for help if the proflie is not filled out.

I have now added profile info. As far as the kit purchase, the one I bought has 2 injectors altho they arent the latest version Delta has to offer. I do plan to get formal training once i get to know the basics of the tools and how they work, ie pressure, vaccum, attachment etc. Now if i can just get out to Oregon.

I would much rather train someone who has not picked up bad habits first, although most are overcome. The failure rate for people in the UK who buy a kit without training and try to start up a business, is most likely about 95% get some training soon please. That figure could possibly be a bit low.
We have had a 100% success rate with our training and support over here which is way ahead of any other tool supply company in the UK. Come on UK tool suppliers prove me wrong.

My sugestion would be stop off at the local wrecking yard havnt met one yet who wouldnt let a guy roam around the wrecks to fix chips. This gives you the chance to work with a variety of breaks of varios ages on the cars themselves. A few hundred repairs later you are ready to work on friends and relatives cars then progressing to customers. The old windshield from the shop gives limted possibilities doing them right on the car you will leanrn much more.

BWa,
Doesn't Delta offer a trade up program for the NEWER, NEWEST T100 or whatever it is called for like $50 or something like that? I am sure you can search the archives for this info. Welcome aboard-good to see you are also from the Bayou State. I would give you some training but I don't use Delta equipment.
