Thinking about this business

Just wondering if anyone can tell me if the repair business fits what I am looking for.
I retired about a year ago and have become very bored sitting at home so I am looking for something to do and have given great consideration to this business.
I have thirty seven years in the wholesale mattress business so I have a back ground in cold calling and I do understand that retail is a big part of this business and has a great profit margin,so my question is, can you make three to four hundred a week with out much effort working retail ?
There is one thing that I dont understand after reading some of the post and that is why you would charge thirty five for a repair and then pay someone fifteen to do the insurance paper work for you Can someone explain ?

yes it is easy to make 3-4 hundred a week (i call this a slow week)
3-4 hundred a day is also very probable

Mrleclay..no one does a repair for 35 and then pays 15 for paperwork..where did you see that post???...ins is usually 50 or better and lynx charges 7.50 or if you have edi its 20.00 for month up to 30 jobs

Thank you sir I guess I interepted it wrong 50 for repair sounds better

I'm new in the business too,havn't bought a kit yet , because many companies sell kits, so this can wait. My concern is to get paid after the job is done, or better befor I get started . All repairs are free to the public unless they have comp or full coverage insurance . Can anybody walk me through the procedure ? Thanx, Ed Janssen.

first you sighn up with lynxs and safelight and other networks .then you get a customer.that wants to use your service.your best bet is to get there insurence card call the number on the back. there will be a prompt selection. that is for glass clamis.go to that, tell the agent with the network. that you have a customer that will like to have a glass repair.and there want to use you company. than tell them there name then hand the phone to your customer.they will answer a few questions. then the agent will ask your fax number is corect. that they will fax. you a dispatch form .then you do the work. and write up the job on an invoie with vin number name all info then have it sighned get the dispatch form then send a copy of the invoice and the dispatch form they will cut check in a few weeks .rember the key is to get the customer to call with you there. if they call later ther will be a good chance that when they call the network referded a differed company and cut you out. this is a subject that i can talk about for hours.:eusa_wall :o
