different equipment?

I had a customer today tell me that my equipment was nothing like what the other guy used( of course that repair looked terrible). He said the man just dropped some liquid on it and then let it set. He did not use a curing lamp or an injector. This was a local glass company in Rochester Michigan. Any ideas on what this company did. Do you think he just pit filled. It appeared to be filled but was very dirty looking in several spots but I didn't notice any air pockets. He was very impressed with my repair :) if it matters I use glasweld equipment and delta premium bond resin.

Hi Jeff.. In all my years i have yet to find a glass shop that cared or did good repairs..I can believe he just filled the pit..it wouldn't surprise me..just the other day i did an ins job..a star break. the person took his car to a glass shop and they said it couldn't be repaired..too much dirt in it(no dirt just Black air).. came out beautifull..they wanted to replace window..he just fills pit and if it cracks later they will probably replace

I do remember Coitster once telling me of a older w/s repair guy who does repairs with no injector, filling stars and other chips with just resin and flexing scribe.

thanks guys its just crazy what you see and hear in this biz. At least with us doing it right maybe in the future people will start to understand what a proper repair should look like.

Its nice to get a complement from a customer. Yes there are a lot of hacks out there making bad repairs
