Hello all,
I have been repairing windshields in southern california for about ten years. I have an established retail only business that is generating a full time income. I operate a mobile service and my average charge per repair is $70.00 with $25.00 for the second chip on the same windshield. Crack repairs are $70.00 - $80.00
I am trying to get some research to see if it would be a good move to the portland area. So here are a few questions for those of you in the portland area.
1. What is your cash charge for chip repair?
2. Do you perform long crack repair? If so what do you charge?
3. How many non-insurance jobs do you have per week?
4. How does the winter weather affect your work?
5. What are your advertising methods

I am in serious need of this info. Your responses are greatly apprieciated:)

I should relocate to Southern California in order to get paid more for my repairs. Here in Conroe,Texas some clients bitch about me charging $ 45.00 for the first one and if needed for the second repair on the same windshield an additional $15.00. Because here are so called techs that charge $20.00 for a chip, star or bullseye repair. When the USA errects that chainlink fence on our southern borders , I might have less to compete with those low rates !

I cant see why anyone from Portland would want to answer your questions honestly, They might be cutting their own throat.
Portland has lots of rain...

Oregon seems very competitive with mobile vendors.

An average of $70 for a chips seems like a great price...Wow.
