What's your week like?

Bad week here in the Philly area. I normally work Thursday through Sunday kinda putzin' around, droppin' off bills from the weekend and basically doing all I want on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. As part of my initiative to the next level I'm working everyday, now as I have told people before I worked 12 days in a row last month, not a big deal. I get up, work out and those days during the week may have only been 4 or 5 hour days so working 12 days in a row isn't the same as punching a clock at a job for me. And I really enjoy what I'm doing. This week started off great in my book since I normally wasn't making any money before Monday through Wednesday. I made $150 Monday and $150 Tuesday and did a few sales leads but now the rain has hit! I lost today and it looks like I'll be skunked until Sunday as that's when Accu-Guess weather calls for the next nice day! Looks like the week will not break the G mark which isn't good. How's your week going?

Another excellent reason to diversify your offering when I added paint repair and headlight refinishing it made the weather less important.

I am glad to say this is a recording setting week so far :) so far I have gotten 25 insurance referrals 22 which I have either scheduled or done. I think maybe hunting season must have some guys off the list or something. I am loving it though. I did a repair on a big ass BMW for an allstate owner and one of the ladies their said something about me being on there PRO list. Not sure what she meant by that but funny this is a record setting week of the year in October LOL. Things are different all over so I am gonna just enjoy this work while I can.

Now imagine this, 18 1/2 years in business I need some help! My business is comprised of Fleets, I just started doing car dealers for the first time in 12 years in June. I'm set up with A.C.T and have no problems with them but I really don't know the process to get referrals from insurance companies. Can you give me some incite into the process.
Cheers,
Scott

My understanding is that you have to have your own credentials with Safelite and Lynx in order to receive referrals. I would call ACT to see what your options are for signing up with those companies to get your own credentials if you have not already done so. Depending on which ACT program you are using, you may not be able to sign up with Safelite and Lynx, but I'm sure they can help you to figure out what the next step is. Please let us know what you find out.

According to A.C.T. I am set up with Safelite & Lynx to do repairs within a 20 mile radius. I explained I haven't received one call as a "referral" and have only done approximately 6 jobs under the A.C.T. program where I've put up a sign at a local market offering "Free" windshield repairs, Ask me how? - This was done on Tuesdays at a local market, I set up 4 times and did 6 jobs from customers at the market but I would love to get referrals as I've read about on this forum so any ideas, suggestions would greatly be appreciated. A.C.T. said they would look into this immediately and get back to me today A.S.A.P.
Cheers,
Scott

OK, update:
I received a call a few minutes ago from an A.C.T. Representative. he informed me that my insurance certificate is out of date, I'm also listed as an in-shop service only center instead of a mobile windshield repair company and I extended my range from 20 to 30 miles. I need to fax him my new certificate as well as my vehicle information. he has said to me that my information will be updated immediately with Safelite and Lynx and I should start receiving referrals. He also informed that certain areas have better response to insurance jobs but I figure I close to Philadelphia and Trenton, both are within the radius I have agreed to perform repairs within. I guess we'll see what happens from here. I expect to start getting referrals by next week, hopefully. Any other suggestions or ideas would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Scott

Since you are apparently signed up with Safelite and Lynx, I would also give them a call directly. They are sometimes hard to get hold of, but probably worth asking them what you need to do to increase referrals. Be sure you have your shop ID number handy when you call Safelite.

Are you signed up for Metryx? Most customers tell me they do not get Lynx referrals unless they sign up for Metryx and fill out their profile. If you are signed up for Metryx but have not updated your profile lately, you may want to do so. Any training, certification, or experience you list will help.

Good luck getting Safelite jobs in the Philly area.. They have 65 Repair Medic trucks on the road 6 days a week. (12-KoP, 6-W.C., 3-Pottstown/Trappe, 10-Reading, 7-Media, and other locations that elude me momentarily) The only work they send my way is stuff that usually cannot be repaired, or that their own repair techs don't want to do.. Thus why I bill the customers and let them submit the invoice to their insurance carrier or I direct bill the insurance company.. I am not letting Safelite or any other 3rd party cut into my profits.. Just FYI Safelite makes an average of $25 per invoice above and beyond your charges.. For what? Sending you an occasional job and taking 30-45 days to pay you.. Not me.. But that was a whole other thread.
