New W/S repair vehicle!

I got an 08 Yamaha Zuma and put a case on the back. 71 MPG in the city and it will go 40MPH.
I mentioned earlier this year that I got a Suzuki 650 but it is way overkill for most WSR. The Zuma is featherlight, no shifting and bottom dollar cheap.
Most of the scooter jobs are going to be in a 10 mile radius with anything farther going on the big bike or in the truck.

I don't post my location on the board but will reveal through PM.
There are too many people in my town who would love to know how we keep making money while others go out of business. I have posted tons of information on this board and the idea of giving someone locally an easy connect the dots would be damaging to us in our market.
I had one of my customers go into business. He thought he could figure out everything there is to know by watching me do a few repairs. He is gone. I always hold a few cards close to my chest and those cards make the difference between open and closed forever. BTW I am no genius. Coitster set me straight at the end of '03 and business has been good ever since. Coitster is the MAN!!!!

Well, you are getting warmer! The IRS mileage allowance isn't close to breaking even when using a new car or truck with all true costs included. A scooter is going to work to our advantage in more ways than one.

I've thought about a scooter but I can't figure out how I would tote all my equipment in a manageable size container. Besides my DK kit case, I hve a 10" stool for breaks in the center of PU's, a hood protector, a 15" UV light for cracks, spray bottle to clean WS, paper & cloth towels, 12v battery jumper (mostly used as a paper weight on windy days), etc. I don't have a UV dome.
I also carry a 4' step ladder for working on RVs. And, of course, there's the headlight restoration equipment & supplies.

I have two sets of tools. One in the truck which is the main one. I have another for the scooter with even a folding step. When the jobs come in, I decide which vehicle I am going to use. I don't move tools around so not to misplace anything. The scooter is mainly for those easy one chip jobs which is our bread and butter. It keeps the cost of going to these jobs as low as possible. Out doing the big rigs, I take the truck. Those guys would run over the scooter and not even look back.
