They have auto recon services right on site for the dealers who choose that route. That seems extremely low, but the trade off is there are thousands and thousands of vehicles there with a captive and receptive audience. Seems like the volume would be signifigant. You would work 10 times as hard to make the same money as even a good wholesale or retail day.(speculation) but it may provide more consistency.
Oh, we get the wonderful privelage of seeing some of these 10-15 dollar botched repairs as the vehicles come into my lots. Then the MGR's want me to see what I can do with it. The majority of the time there is nothing that can be done.
$400 per day is $104,000 per year. I am sure there are some on here that would be happy with thatscreenman wrote:$300 to $400 a day there are some on here that would be happy with that. Do you spend that much time marketing to quality customer if so you have my admiration, 3 years of knocking on the same door is hard, well done.
$300-400 per day is good money! Somedays I'd only get 1/2 that depending on the # of techs/cars etc.. and we were talking assembly line style work with a production MGR constantly yapping " hurry up we got to get these cars out" trying to speed things up. They thought if you spent more than 10 minutes on the car you were slow or lazy. I figured if you gonna pay me to fix atleast let me fix it. The guys with that paper lunch sack for a tool kit didn't care but for me it was all about doing it right. When the pricing dropped I figured I can do 1/2 the work and get the same money from doing retail/ins and dealer work dealers here are paying $40-45screenman wrote:$300 to $400 a day there are some on here that would be happy with that.
