A friend of mine has just dummy shopped the main replacement compnay to request the price of a repair and here is their reply.

What is that to US money? also what is the normal price over there? That way we can see how much more you are going to make.

$136 the normal price would be $58 is this a case of replacement companies not really wanting repairs.

Autowindscreens have just put there price up to. I dont think they will be around this time next year things are bad there, they laying people off left right and centre .

£91.94, That's unreal money for a repair, maybe they don't want to replace at this point, at those prices who care's, I can see your price increase too hahahahaaaaa

I wonder how that guarantee will work for them as people hold on to their cars longer.

The Safelite/Elite shops in my market are now charging $129.00 for repair. They say they'll repair up to 3 chips for that price... I think it's obvious they would rather sell you a brittle piece of $%^# windshield for $150.00!

Thats right simplyweb, Auto windscreens are going under thats for sure, i was they nearly 20 years & recently got made redundant, crazy aint it....
you cant buy experience fitting windscreens and yet auto windscreens throw it away.... Norwich union killed the company with they Aviva ways.

I need to raise my prices back up to $40 +

So they charge 3 times as much as you nearly, why go so cheap? Your prices are less than were bing charged 20+ years ago.
