I became interested in mobile glass repair after meeting a rep. from Superglass- very professional and successful.
Before I follow straight in his footsteps I was hoping for some advice on training, certification, franchise opinions - (who is "best"?)
My goal is to provide excellent service and do top notch repairs. Who should I train with and what certs do I want?
Any and all advice welcome- Thanks.

DontPanic, it would be extremely helpfull to know more about you, for example your experience in life, age, your jobs so far, the money you have at hand (and are able and willing to invest), your objectives with the business, the time frame you have in mind, and the location you are at. The afforementioned are just a few questions we ask when people are request info to join our network (btw; we do not have a franchise in the USA). I perfectly do understand and would not endorse you to share all the information here in public, but some details would be very helpfull. When it comes to repair only franchises, in the US, you already have been talking to the best, just contact Dave (president) and he will be very happy to help you. Since you do not have filled in the details in your members profile, your location is unknown to me, needless to say that I do not know about the current availability of the area you live in to join any franchise. Do your home work and do not sign anything before you are totally convinced >and have all the pre agreement paper work audited by a third party as well. Good luck.

Don't Panic,
You made a post on this forum to have a simple question answered. The answer to that question has NOTHING to do with supplying your life experience, age, how many jobs you've had, the amount of money you can invest, your location or your shoe size.
You are considering starting a WSR business and like making any step in unfamiliar territory, it's wise to consult with others that have already walked that path.
Who/what is best? Some companies that sell WSR equipment have very slick marketing and advertising programs (which doesn't necessarily make their equipment the best option). Some equipment being sold can be very costly (which doesn't necessarily make them the best choice). Some offer training that's free and others require paying for training (in addition to the cost of purchasing equipment).
Conduct a web search on WSR companies. Compare prices, training (and if you have to pay for it), support after the sale (this is VERY important) and if a guarantee comes with the purchase (some provide none and some allow equipment to be returned for a full refund within a reasonable amount of time).
My choice was Delta. I found the Delta training (they issue a "certified" WSR technician after a 1-day class) and support to be excellent. Ironically enough, my next door neighbor also does WSR and he uses GlasWeld. I can't tell much of a difference in the quality of repairs, but there is a huge difference in the price of the equipment offered by the 2 companies.
Hope you found this information helpful,
David T

Thanks for the advice-
I updated my profile, in case it helps.
Basics: ex US Navy electronics tech...good with tech stuff and tools
ex car sales and finance...good with people, sales and figures.
currently an owner-operator...a trucker that owns the truck...a small biz owner used to working hard.
45 years old, good health and financially able to get a small operation off to a good start.
Living in Ocala, FL now, willing to re-locate, esp. to VA.
I know I'm on a brand-specific web site...I've heard only good things about Delta and I don't want to put anyone in a compromising position.
Any and all advice on brands or types of equipment, training, certification, favorite franchises...any definite do's or don'ts ...all greatly appreciated.
The Superglass tech I met left a very positive impression on me, but I want to hear what the "community" thinks.
Thanks again
