nice korey. when i get these which is more often than i would think i seal the crack first then inject the resin.
was having trouble with these and called delta, was told to seal first.

You can seal the surface cracks first with pit resin and curing film so that you can pull a vacuum without pulling air from the surface, however in this instance the crack came to the surface for the entire length of the cracks, so the resin pushed the air out and there was no need for a vacuum cycle. Had any air remained after the first pressure cycle the technician would have covered the cracks with curing film after the resin appeared on the surface and before initiating the vacuum cycle, which would have sealed off the cracks.

I do not recommend running a thin resin along the crack prior to injection as some of it will seep into the crack and more often than not air bubbles will be trapped in the crack in that process. The air bubbles are sometimes difficult to remove so we always try to fill from the impact point out whenever possible.

Thanks for posting this video, it was very helpful. Question: how deep did you drill into the damaged area (this may have been mentioned in the video, but I have no sound on my computer)? On a repair like this, is it necessary to drill all the way through the laminate?
